• 1993 - First series of seminars on Customs and Rituals of Northeast India begins

• 1996 – Building at Guwahati dedicated to the Nation

• 1997–  First VKIC Foundation Day Celebrated

• 1997– First Radhanath Phukan Memorial Bi-annual Lecture delivered by

          Dr Karan Singh

• 1998 – First of the inter-disciplinary cultural forum Sanskrati Anveshak begins

• 1998 – VKIC Reference Library started on Inauguration of August 22.

• 1999 – First VKIC Samman awarded to Dr Pradip Chaliha

• 1999 – the First of the community-based Seminar series on Traditional Systems 

          Change and Continuity takes place in Pasighat, East Siang District,  Arunachal   

          Pradesh

•  1999 – First VKIC Documentation of Traditional Art Forms of the Dimasas of North  

          Cachar Hills, Assam

• 2002 – First of the VKIC Publication – Traditional Customs and Rituals of Northeast

          India – Vol I

• 2003 – Launching of the First VKIC Chapter - VKIC Arunachal Pradesh Chapter at

          Itanagar in July

• 2004 – First of the seminar series on Development through Culture takes place in

           Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh

• 2004 – Active interaction with the communities of Shillong begins

• 2004 – Focus work on the Sattras of Assam begins

• 2005 – First of the entrepreneurship development workshops on Mukha and Saci Pat

• 2006 – VKIC Decennial Celebrations

• 2006 – November –First National-level Seminar  Sattra Darshan – Celebrating the

          Sattra Institution of Assam

• 2007 – First of the series on re-visiting the vision of Srimanta Sankaradeva begins.  

           For the First time 2 of Assam’s great institutions the Sattras and Srimanta

           Sankaradeva Sangha come together on the VKIC platform
